Danielle Brown Scholarship
“Passionate – Purposeful – Committed are the three words that best describe Danielle Brown. Her dedication to uplifting humanity and advocating for the marginalized was ever present, as was her smile, joyful personality, and tireless work ethic. She was someone who identified roadblocks to progress and created solutions to problems, always in collaboration with others. She embraced and championed diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of its forms.”
-Dr. Beverly Walker, President of Mott Community College

About the scholarship
The Danielle Brown Scholarship was initiated in 2021 after our community experienced the devastating loss of GCLC’s esteemed Chairperson, Danielle Brown. As a champion for literacy, Danielle Brown led the Coalition with a vision and passion for anyone without a voice and we are committed to continuing her mission forward.

In honor of Danielle Brown's memory, GCLC will select one student every year to be the recipient of the Danielle Brown Scholarship. The recipient will receive $1,000 in scholarship funds towards the next step of their education. All candidates will receive recognition and GCLC will strive to provide support for all through our community partners.
