GCLC would like to recognize Greg Perry as our tutor of the month for January 2022. Greg has been a Literacy Coach with the GST Michigan Works Talent Development Center (TDC) since October of 2019. Greg always goes above and beyond to be there for his team members, students, and community. As a former Marine and an Advocate for youth and adults with disabilities, Greg demonstrates consistent commitment to service and our shared value of lifelong learning. He is dependable, patient, thoughtful, compassionate, and hardworking. He always has a positive attitude and a great sense of humor.

Greg is a valuable member of TDC and GCLC, contributing to program and student success in many ways. Greg shines in areas including phonics and reading remediation, English as a Second Language, study skills, writing assistance, technology, and movie trivia. Greg is an innovative and creative problem solver, and we are fortunate to have him on our team. You can find him at the Talent Development Center Monday-Friday with a smile, snacks, and ready to help. Stay tuned to learn more about our students and tutors of the month!

Did you know that you can support GCLC when you make an Amazon purchase?

Register through AmazonSmile and Amazon will donate .5% of eligible purchases directly to GCLC.

To register on a browser, use your Amazon credentials to sign up at smile.amazon.com. When prompted, select Genesee County Literacy Coalition as your favorite charity. You must be logged into smile.amazon.com for your purchases to count. I’d suggest bookmarking the page in your browser for easy access. If you need extra help with ‘bookmarking’ let us know.

You can also join through the Amazon app on your phone. On the app, open settings and tap on AmazonSmile. Be sure to also select “Turn on AmazonSmile” to assure that future purchases count.

Donations will be used towards GCLC operations and technology bundles for students. Even the smallest purchase will go towards funding life-long learning in our community!
